John Hammergren's compensation package included a $23.2 million gain in the value of his pension benefits. 

Shares of the San Francisco-based distributor of prescription drugs and medical supplies have risen 22 percent this year, giving the company a market value of $27 billion.

Separately, the CEO of McKesson also has one of the largest golden parachutes: a potential payout of up to $303.4 million, according to data compiled by Bloomberg.
