Great Wall Marathon

Tianjin Province, China

You'll start out huffing and puffing in this one: The annual Great Wall Marathon begins with steep schleps up and down the wall's rocky stairs in the Tianjin Province. The course eases up in the second half of the race, when runners tour nearby villages and rice fields. Not sure you want to tough out the full 26.2? A half-marathon and a 7.5-kilometer race are also on the roster.
