The Missile That Missed

<p>It was a provocative image of four missiles launching as part of a test by Iran's military. But there was one missile too many. When Agence France-Presse circulated the photo in June 2008, the picture appeared on the front pages of the Los Angeles Times, the Chicago Tribune, and several other newspapers and major news websites. Agence France-Presse later retracted the picture, saying it was a handout image from the public relations arm of Iran's Revolutionary Guard and that the photo was "apparently digitally altered."</p>
