6. Biofuels

Aviation and shipping may provide new demand for biofuel producers. Boeing and Airbus are seeking regulatory okays for biofuel use. Sinopec, the Chinese oil-and-gas giant, has received a license for a palm-oil based biofuel. Biodiesel demand for shipping may rise if the U.S. Navy's green fleet initiative develops.

Biofuels drew almost $6.5 billion last year.
