John F. Kennedy and the first family regroup at their Squaw Island House in Hyannisport, Massachusetts, on Aug. 14, 1963. One week earlier, Jacqueline Kennedy had given birth to Patrick Bouvier Kennedy. He was more than five weeks premature and died two days later, on Aug. 9. The president would be assassinated on Nov. 22.
