In June, Jonathan Oringer became the first billionaire to be created in New York's Silicon Alley, when shares of Shutterstock rose to a record. The founder and CEO of the largest online marketplace for stock photos and videos owns about 55 percent of the company. His shares are valued at $1 billion, according to the Bloomberg Billionaires Index. Oringer founded Shutterstock in 2003 with 30,000 of his own pictures. The website now has about 28 million licensed photos, illustrations and videos available for sale.
