Pickathon isn’t kidding when it bills itself as the world’s greenest music festival. Since 2010 the festival has been as serious about its commitment to the planet as it is assembling an eclectic lineup of top-notch artists for this two-day event, which takes place on Pendarvis Farm, just ten miles from Portland. The festival has placed a ban on single-use cups, utensils, and dishware at its event, with stainless steel replacing plastic in its beer gardens. A team of 1,500 festival volunteers spend their time collecting any items that can be recycled or composted. Oh, and there’s music!
