Don Buchla, a pioneer in synthesizers, founded electronic music equipment company Buchla and Associates in 1962. One of his newest devices uses handheld wands to control electronic sounds. In addition, its sensor notes when the wands move up and down, left and right, and gauges its proximity to create more nuanced sounds than previous iterations.
