Eighteen percent of the top 50 U.S. technology companies recognized the computer-chip maker as a threat in their annual filings with the SEC. Qualcomm and Texas Instruments were among the nine companies that listed Intel in the risk factors or competitors section of their 10-K reports.
Intel is the dominant chipmaker in PCs, and new CEO Brian Krzanich is trying to tap into the company's hefty resources to translate its winning formula to mobile devices.
