Carlton Hotel's Speakeasy Suite

New York

The Speakeasy Suite at New York City's Carlton Hotel pays tribute to the city's Prohibition days with a secret back room attached to the bedroom that is only accessible through a hidden door masquerading as a bookcase. Once inside, the cozy bonus room offers a plethora of forbidden treasures, including a (non-working) tommy gun, custom-designed poker table with cards and chips, period photography and New York Times front pages, and a well-stocked private bar with leather furniture for lounging.
