March on the Pentagon

Four years later, on Oct. 21, 1967, tens of thousands of demonstrators visited Lincoln to protest the Vietnam War. Phil Ochs and Peter, Paul and Mary performed during the event, which included a march to the Pentagon and saw hundreds of protesters arrested.

Norman Mailer's chronicle of the event, "The Armies of the Night," won the Pulitzer Prize.
