Amazon's Big Off-Line Purchase
In October, Amazon.com, the world's largest online retailer, said it had agreed to buy its 11-building headquarters complex in Seattle for $1.16 billion. The deal is poised to be the biggest U.S. office transaction of the year.
The deal comes as Amazon's stock price has gained about 50 percent this year and Internet sales are expected to reach $43.4 billion this holiday season, according to research firm ComScore.
