Of the 135 CEOs analyzed, 20 percent worked previously at one or more of these five companies: Yahoo! (8.9 percent), Google (5.1 percent), Microsoft (3.7 percent), Facebook (2.9 percent) or EBay (2.9 percent).

For Fortune 100 CEOs, the most common previous companies were General Electric (4 percent), McKinsey & Co. (4 percent) and General Motors (3 percent).
