March on Washington
King said in "I Have a Dream" that the
Aug. 28, 1963 March on Washington would "go down in history as the
greatest demonstration for freedom in the history of our nation." Who are
we to argue?
The year after King moved the nation with his 17-minute keynote, he received the Nobel
Peace Prize, at the age of 35. You can watch his speech here. Fifty years later, as Bloomberg's Margaret Talev reports, the push for racial equality remains a work-in-progress.
