Senators Whipped by Browns, Coolidge Poses

Presidents often threw out the first pitch at other games, not just on opening day. On May 7, 1928, at Griffith Stadium in Washington, President Calvin Coolidge threw out the first pitch, again from the stands. And once again, the Washington Senators fell to the visiting St. Louis Browns, 15-2.
