SPR Therapeutics is working on an implantable device to help reduce shoulder pain in patients who have suffered strokes. MicroPulse stimulates peripheral nerves within muscle to treat pain and is being studied in patients who don't respond to, or cannot tolerate, conventional therapies. Still in testing, the device was recently implanted in its first patient. It hasn't received regulatory approval.
