Methodology

We added face-value prices for those tickets posted on the London 2012 website as of April 16, 2012, and calculated the difference between secondary-market and face-value prices for the lowest- and highest-priced ??tickets. We averaged the two figures to come up with the average premium.

The sports are ranked by a "Scarcity Index," which reflects the average number of tickets available per event and per sport in the secondary market. The lower the number, the fewer the tickets available.
