Famous and Anonymous

It seems like an oxymoron—a famous anonymous graffiti artist whose works sell for upwards of £1 million—but none other than Banksy can claim this kind of worldwide notoriety. Even if you haven’t seen "Exit Through the Gift Shop" or his satirical street art in London or New York, there’s a chance you’ve crossed paths with Banksy’s work. Sotheby's in London will host an "unauthorized retrospective" of Banksy art (June 11–July 25) but we prefer hunting down the originals, past and present, around the world.
