At 1,312 feet long, 194 feet wide, and weighing 55,000 tons empty, the Maersk Mc-Kinney Moeller is the world’s largest container ship and has the ability to carry 18,000 20-foot boxes across the world's oceans.

The ship's owner, Copenhagen-based A.P. Moeller-Maersk A/S, has 19 more so-called Triple-E vessels on order over the next two years, at a cost of $185 million each.
