What does it take to give an airplane a face-lift? Forty days of round-the-clock work, it turns out. We took a look at United Airlines' reconfiguration of its Boeing 777 fleet as the crew ripped out the interior to add new seats and upgrade inflight entertainment units.

You think renovating your kitchen's hard? Please. How about reconfiguring a gargantuan vessel that can transport 266 passengers at 550 miles per hour in the sky? United Airlines is finishing up retrofitting its fleet of 46 Boeing 777s. We visited its San Francisco maintenance facility to get a behind-the-scene peek at the process.
