Royal Hawaiian

This is how you know we're travel nerds: During the season premiere of Mad Men, we were just as excited to welcome Draper and gang back to AMC as we were to see the Royal Hawaiian take a starring role in the two-hour episode. In the show, Don and Megan Draper vacationed there over the holidays, and we can't really blame them. Waikiki's Pink Palace is a perennial Gold List favorite (and it's been around since 1927, way before our Gold List even existed) plus it's one of Wendy Perrin's top picks for family-friendly resorts.

Here's how you can re-create the same vacation Megan and Don Draper took—right down to impromptu hula dancing and poi during the hotel's luau. You're on your own for those paisley swim trunks, though.
