Balthazar, the new outpost of Keith McNally, is generating quite a buzz in London. The tables are set at the London brasserie, based on the New York original, which in turn pays homage to the grand brasseries of Paris. The restaurant joins McNally’s list of New York establishments like Pravda, Morandi and Pulino’s. Visitors in the first week included Jason Atherton and Alain Ducasse, who describes McNally as a genius.

The 26-foot pewter bar will be where you meet Brian Silva, previously tending at Rules, to choose your cocktails beneath a faux-nicotine stained ceiling.
