Mississippi Drought

A barge makes its way down the Mississippi River in St. Louis, Missouri. The rush is on to keep customers supplied, workers employed and commerce alive in communities that rely on the nation's busiest waterway. The usual dry season, combined with the worst drought in 50 years, may push water levels so low in coming weeks it will halt traffic in a section south of St. Louis.
