Putting on the Dog

Humans never seem to pull off Halloween costumes nearly as well as dogs, perhaps because dogs know how to deadpan their way through anything. From a rescue dog sporting a Donald Trump hairdo to a pug dressed as a geisha, dogs and their owners just wrapped up this year's Halloween Dog Parade in New York's Tompkins Square Park on Saturday, October 20, 2012. Just under 500 dogs participated, making it the biggest pet parade in the U.S; $14,000 was raised to maintain the dog run in Greenwich Village. While the National Retail Federation says dog owners will spend $370 million on pet costumes this Halloween, many of the best are homemade.
