Goin' to the Fair

The 2012 West Virginia State Fair wraps up its 88th year this weekend in Lewisburg with the theme of "Memories that grow ... year after year." The fair has a $13.8 million annual economic impact on the state, and continues the summer ritual of state and county fairs that began in 1841.

Getty Images photographer Mark Wilson used an iPhone 4S with Snapseed's vintage filter to capture scenes from a summer institution.

Left, people from across the region attend the fair, which hosts various events including equestrian and livestock demonstrations along with a full complement of carnival rides.
