Chrysler Dodge Dart

The 2012 North American International Auto Show marks a resurgence for both Detroit's Cobo Hall venue and the hometown automakers General Motors Co., Ford Motor Co. and Chrysler Group LLC, which all gained market share last year against foreign rivals.

Left, the Chrysler Dodge Dart is unveiled during the 2012 North American International Auto Show (NAIAS) in Detroit on Jan. 9, 2012. Chrysler's engineers based Dart on Fiat's "compact wide" platform, which was developed in Italy and forms the basis of the Alfa Romeo Giulietta.
