Man at Market

Thailand's worst flooding in almost 70 years has killed as many as 600 people and caused economic damages that could exceed $20 billion. Water may take two months to recede in some areas. Sixty-four of the nation's 77 provinces were affected. "We are trying to resist the nature of water," Prime Minister Yingluck Shinawatra said on Oct. 27, two days before this photo of a man in a Bangkok market was taken. "We won't be able to achieve that because there is such a large amount of water approaching Bangkok."
