A woman and her son sow seeds on a small plot already planted with corn, taro and squash, on the same side of a road that the proposed Herakles Farms oil palm concession would occupy.

Local farmers and hunters worry about their future if the nearby forest is cut down and converted to a monoculture oil palm plantation as planned.
