Rough Rider

Theodore Roosevelt shows off his kill. After he left the White House in 1909, Roosevelt blew off steam by leading a Smithsonian Institution expedition to eastern Africa, according to the museum's website. Roosevelt's group brought back 23,151 examples of flora and fauna, including 20 zebras, 13 rhinoceros, nine lions, eight warthogs, four hyenas and at least one elephant, whose skull remains at the Smithsonian.
