Olympic Velodrome

The 6,000-seat velodrome nestles in a new landscape created for the London Olympics. The warped roofline of the wood-faced structure, designed by Hopkins Architects, reflects the steeply sloped track inside and seating tiers arranged for best sightlines. The gently ridged landscaping, by the San Francisco landscape architect Hargreaves Associate, replaces an industrial wasteland.
