Spanish Unions Protest

Demonstrators gather in Madrid to protest against the Spanish government's severe austerity plans at an event organized by unions opposing financial cuts in health and education on April 29, 2012. Unemployment in Spain has now reached a record high and the government has announced that immigrants without legal status will not be covered by health public services. The government aims to get Spain's deficit down to 5.3 percent this year and to 3.0 percent in 2013.
