B2 Boutique Hotel & Spa

Zurich, Switzerland

A 60-room hotel in the former 1880 Hürlimann Brewery, a local landmark that was once Switzerland's largest suds producer. Perched on a hillside on the outskirts of Zurich, the repurposed structure also houses Google's Swiss offices.

The look: The whitewashed facade of the old brewery and brick factory chimneys proudly announce a post-industrial aesthetic that includes the use of old wooden beer crates as tables in the superb high-ceilinged, book-lined lobby lounge. Upstairs, rooms are Nordic minimalist with oak parquet floors and fittings, glass-and-mosaic bathrooms, and design details like Tom Dixon brass-lined suspension lamps and black-and-white photos of the old brewery. Read more.
