Yahoo: 3.7 Years

When Marissa Mayer took Yahoo's top job, she became the company's fifth chief executive in about three years. Ross Levinsohn had temporarily stepped into the role in May when Scott Thompson resigned over inaccuracies in his resume. Thompson, former president of EBay's PayPal, took the helm in January from Tim Morse, who became Yahoo's interim CEO in September. Morse followed Carol Bartz, who was fired last year. Bartz was named CEO in 2009, succeeding co-founder Jerry Yang.
