Gary Hart

The most high-profile flameout of the last half-century might well be Gary Hart, the U.S. Senator from Colorado. Hart was considered the front-runner for the Democratic presidential nomination in 1988 until a reporter caught him aboard a yacht named “Monkey Business” with a woman who was not his wife. Hart’s comeback attempts failed.
