A meticulously restored colonial marine police station on Lantau Island, now a nine-room hotel, in a remote fishing village 90 minutes by car from downtown Hong Kong but close to the international airport and the Big Buddha. The nonprofit, upscale hotel—a project of the Hong Kong Heritage Conservation Foundation—is a welcome initiative in a city that has razed much of its architectural past to make way for new development.
