Horses and Bayonets

President Barack Obama's response to Governor Mitt Romney's observation that the U.S. has fewer ships than in the past -- "we also have fewer horses and bayonets" -- was the digital catch phrase of the final presidential debate. Two horsesandbayonets tumblrs sprang up right away, and the zinger was the most-tweeted moment of the debate, at 105,767 tweets per minute. Among them: "#HorsesandBayonettes is an incredible post-grunge Portland-based hipster band" and "Vote Romney/Ryan 1878!"
