Vantage Point

Portrait in the window of the theater in Pripyat, Ukraine.

The city once had a population of about 45,000, including Chernobyl workers and their families, but now it's a city of ruins, overgrown with trees and brush.

Pripyat lies within the 30-km exclusion zone that surrounds Chernobyl's reactor No. 4, which exploded in 1986 and was later enclosed in a concrete sarcophagus.
