#24 Dar es Salaam, Tanzania

A natural sunset's color splashes form when light strikes the atmosphere at an angle and bounces around miles of vapor and floating particles before reaching your eyes. Fine specks of pollution, measuring less than one millionth of a meter (one micron), can enhance the effect, like putting a color filter on your camera lens.

Dar es Salaam is Tanzania's capital and its largest and most prosperous city. It's also a manufacturing hub for the mostly rural country.
