Segments The company operates in three segments, including Americas Foods & Beverages, Americas Fresh Foods and Europe Foods & Beverages. Americas Foods & Beverages This segment offers plant-based foods and beverages, which includes its Silk and So Delicious branded beverages, such as soymilk, almondmilk, coconutmilk and cashewmilk; ice cream and frozen novelty products and plant-based yogurts; and Vega plant-based nutritional products. Its premium dairy products includes its Horizon Organic milk, yogurt, cheese, and other premium dairy products; Wallaby Organic Greek and Australian yogurts and Kefir beverages; and Horizon branded macaroni and cheese and snack foods. The company also provides coffee creamers and beverages, which includes coffee creamers and ready-to-drink beverages under the International Delight, Dunkin Donuts and LAND O LAKES brand names. Americas Fresh Foods This segment offers organic salads, fruits and vegetables, which includes packaged salads and greens, fresh and frozen fruits and vegetables, dried fruit, and produce-based snacks marketed under its Earthbound Farm brand. Europe Foods & Beverages This segment offers plant-based foods and beverages, which includes its Alpro and Provamel brand beverages using soy-, almond-, coconut-, hazelnut-, rice-, oat- and other plant-based ingredients, and plant-based alternatives to yogurt, culinary creams, desserts and margarine. Sales and Marketing The company sells its products in North America and Europe primarily through its direct sales force, independent brokers, regional brokers and distributors. Customers The company sells its products across North America and Europe to various customers, including grocery stores, mass merchandisers, club stores, convenience stores, and health food stores, as well as various away-from-home channels, including restaurants and foodservice outlets. Wal-Mart Stores, Inc., including its subsidiary, Sam’s Club, accounted for 13.7% of the company’s total net sales for the year ended December 31, 2015. Trademarks and Intellectual Property As of December 31, 2015, the company have been issued approximately 30 patents or are pending or published. As of January 31, 2016, the company owns approximately 1,100 trademark applications and registrations around the world and maintains approximately 550 domain names worldwide.
