E-Debit Global Corporation, through its subsidiaries, is engaged in the sale and operation of cash vending (automated teller machine (ATM)) and point of sale machines in Canada. The company provides automated consumer financial services through its Canadian national network of ATMs and its financial processing services associated to its membership within the Canadian Interac Network. It offers a suite of ATM management services from ATM deployment and maintenance to transaction processing, reporting, and settlement. As of December 31, 2012, 275 ATM are being processed by Westsphere Systems Inc.’s (the company’s wholly owned subsidiary) switch. The company provides its major merchant customers with all of the services required to operate ATMs, which include monitoring, maintenance, cash management, customer service, and transaction processing. In addition to deploying its devices under company-owned and merchant-owned arrangements, the company offers a managed services solution, under which it provides certain services to retailers, financial institutions, and other ATM operators. The company depends on various networks and counterparties in the conduct of its business operations, including Interac, MasterCard, VISA, Plus, Cirrus, Moneris Solutions Corp., Bank of Montreal, Royal Bank of Canada, Shaw Communications Inc., the DPL Group, TNSI, and Trans Armored Canada Ltd.; and equipment and software vendors, such as ACI Worldwide Inc., Rycom Inc., and ebackup Inc. Strategy The company’s strategy is to improve its position as a major provider of automated consumer financial services in Canada and internationally, and to expand its business operations to become a provider of managed services to further expand its network and service offerings into select international markets. History The company was incorporated under the laws of the state of Colorado in 1998. It was formerly known as Newslink Networks TDS, Inc. and changed its name to Westsphere Asset Corporation, Inc. in 1999. Further, the company changed its name to E-Debit Global Corporation in 2010.
