Products and Services The company is a provider of electrical, industrial, and communications maintenance, repair and operating (MRO) and original equipment manufacturers (OEM) products, construction materials, and advanced supply chain management and logistics services. The company’s primary product categories include general electrical and industrial supplies, wire, cable and conduit, data and broadband communications, power distribution equipment, lighting and lighting control systems, control and automation, motors, and safety. The company’s network of branches and distribution centers stock approximately 250,000 unique product stock keeping units and the company provides customers with access to approximately 1,000,000 different products. General and Industrial Supplies: These include wiring devices, fuses, terminals, connectors, boxes, enclosures, fittings, lugs, terminations, tape, splicing and marking equipment, tools and testers, safety and security, personal protection, abrasives, cutting tools, tapes, consumables, fasteners, janitorial and other MRO supplies. Wire, Cable and Conduit: These include wire, cable, raceway, metallic and non-metallic conduit. Data and Broadband Communications: These include structured cabling systems, broadband products, low voltage specialty systems, specialty wire and cable products, equipment racks and cabinets, access control, alarms, cameras, paging and voice solutions. Power Distribution Equipment: These include circuit breakers, transformers, switchboards, panel boards, metering products, and busway products. Lighting and Controls: These include lamps, fixtures, ballasts and lighting control products. Control, Automation and Motors: These products include motor control devices, drives, surge and power protection, relays, timers, pushbuttons, operator interfaces, switches, sensors, and interconnects. Services The company provides customers a portfolio of value added services which includes approximately 50 value add solutions in 11 categories, including construction, e-business, energy, engineering services, green and sustainability, production support, safety and security, supply chain optimization, training, and working capital. These solutions are designed to address its customer’s business needs through: providing technical support for manufacturing process improvements; implementing inventory optimization programs, including just-in-time delivery and vendor managed inventory; participating in joint cost savings teams; assigning its employees as on-site support personnel; consulting and recommending energy-efficient product upgrades; and offering safety and product training for customer employees. Suppliers The company purchases products from group of approximately 25,000 suppliers. Its major supplier in 2014 was Eaton Corporation. Customers The company has a base of approximately 75,000 active customers across a diverse set of end markets. Sales and Distribution The United States: To serve its customers in the United States, the company operates a network of approximately 320 branches supported by 5 distribution centers located in Pennsylvania, Nevada, Mississippi, Wisconsin, and Arkansas. Canada: To serve its Canadian customers, the company operates a network of approximately 120 branches in 9 provinces.
