Scorpio Mining Corporation engages in the acquisition, exploration, and development of mineral resource properties in Canada and Mexico. The company primarily focuses on the exploration and development of the Nuestra Senora project in the Cosala Mining District in the State of Sinaloa, Mexico. Nuestra Senora Property, Mexico Minera Cosala, SA de CV (Minera Cosala), an indirectly wholly owned subsidiary of the company owns 100% in the three mineral exploitation claims of the Nuestra Senora property in Cosala mining district, Sinaloa State, Mexico. Five mineral exploitation claims (El Angel Tercero, Anexas del Angel , Anexas al Predio, Ampliacion El Mistral and Zaida) cover an area of 1,895 hectares while the mineral exploration claims that surround them are comprised of six claims (La Seca Fracc. 1, La Seca Fracc. 2, La Seca 2 Fracc. 1, La Seca 2 Fracc. 2 and La Seca 3) covering an area of 13,559 hectares for a total of 15,455 hectares. With the exception of La Seca 2, and Fraccion 2, all the claims are contiguous. Caribou Property The Caribou gold property is located 80 kilo meters northeast of Halifax and 10 kilo meters south of the rural community of Upper Musquodoboit, in Halifax County, Nova Scotia. Scorpio Gold has an option to acquire a 100% interest in the property that comprises 16 contiguous mineral claims covering approximately 256 hectares. The company has 100% interest in Caribou Property. It consists of 53 contiguous mineral claims covering approximately 848 hectares of land in Guysborough County and encompassing 1 portal adit and 3 shallow shafts from former mining operations. Lac Arseneault Property The Lac Arseneault property is located in Bonaventure County, 36 km north of the town of Paspebiac on the south coast of the Gaspe Peninsula, Quebec. The property consists of 30 contiguous unpatented claims covering approximately 480 hectares. Scorpio Gold holds a 100% interest in the property. History Scorpio Mining Corporation was incorporated in 1998.
