The collaboration is aimed at producing a new range of performance and special vehicles. The first vehicles to be launched under the collaboration would be the Tata Sports. History The company was founded in 1945. It was incorporated in 1945 as a public limited liability company under the Indian Companies Act VII of 1913. The company was formerly known as Tata Locomotive and Engineering Company Limited and changed its name to Tata Engineering and Locomotive Company Limited in 1960. Further, the company changed its name to Tata Motors Limited in 2003.
