As of December 31, 2013, it had approximately 437,000 active real estate professionals in its Trulia marketplace and 157,000 active real estate professionals using its Market Leader software and services. Approximately 59,700 of these real estate professionals were paying subscribers. Data Listings Data: The company receives feeds covering various new and existing for sale and for rent listings every day from multiple listing services, real estate brokerages, real estate agents, real estate listings aggregators, and other third parties. It also obtains detailed ownership and property data from vendors who collect and digitize information from public county records. In addition, for the company’s Market Leader solutions, it processes data feeds from approximately 500 multiple listing services to populate approximately 126,000 real estate professional Websites that it hosts. Local Information: The company informs consumers on what it is like to live in a neighborhood by delivering insights on schools, crime, neighborhood amenities, commute times, home values, historical earthquake, flood and other natural disaster data, and other community information. Schools: The company provides information on schools by district, type, parent reviews, and ratings, which is based on data that it receives from third parties. The company overlays this information onto its maps and color code the data points with a sliding color scale to differentiate between schools with low, medium, or high ratings. Crime: The company receives raw data from third parties about the occurrence, type, location, and description of non-violent and violent crime. It conducts proprietary analysis on the data and aggregates its findings into a tabular format or into its proprietary crime heat map. The company’s crime heat map provides an overview, visualized through a sliding color scale of the incidence of crime in the area and highlights in callout text boxes the number of violent crimes in the area. Enhanced Map Visualizations of Natural Disasters: The company enables consumers to view historical earthquake and flood data, allowing them to assess the risk of these natural disasters on a block-by-block level. It also provides interactive natural hazard maps pinpointing areas across the United States that are prone to hurricanes, wildfires, and tornadoes. With these maps, users are able to visualize where their dream home is located relative to where natural hazards have hit. The company’s map visualizations are also integrated into its mobile offerings. Neighborhood Amenities: The company provides the location, names, and ratings of nearby restaurants, grocery stores, banks, and gas stations on its maps based on data that it receives from Yelp.
