Tempur Sealy International, Inc. develops, manufactures, markets, and distributes bedding products in North America and internationally. The company’s brand portfolio includes TEMPUR, Tempur-Pedic, Sealy, Sealy Posturepedic, Optimum, and Stearns & Foster. Its suite of bedding products offers various products to consumers across a range of channels. Segments The company operates in three business segments: Tempur North America, Tempur International, and Sealy. Tempur North America segment consists of two U.S. manufacturing facilities in Virginia and New Mexico and its Tempur North America distribution subsidiaries. Tempur International segment consists of the company's manufacturing facility in Denmark, whose customers include all of its distribution subsidiaries and third party distributors outside its Tempur North America and Sealy segments. Sealy segment consists of company-owned and operated bedding and component manufacturing facilities located worldwide, along with distribution subsidiaries, joint ventures, and licensees. Products The company has an offering of products that appeal to a range of consumers, some of which are covered by one or more patents and/or patent applications. The company's 2015 product introductions include the TEMPUR-Flex collection, which uses hybrid construction and new proprietary technology that pairs a faster-responding TEMPUR material with a support layer made of precision coils to deliver a new TEMPUR feel with more responsive support. The TEMPUR-Flex collection also features an EasyRefresh removable cover and a cool-to-the-touch SmartClimate system. In addition, it updated its Sealy Posturepedic line in 2015, which includes the Posturepedic Series, Posturepedic Plus Series and Posturepedic Premier Hybrid Series. The new Sealy Posturepedic mattresses feature encased coils, gel memory foam and a core support center for unsurpassed back support. The company also introduced a limited edition collection of Stearns & Foster mattresses and, internationally, introduced Tempur North, a new bed system that would be marketed primarily in Northern European markets. Additionally, it offers a range of comfort products which include pillows and other accessories. Bedding The company’s bedding product category includes mattresses, foundations and adjustable foundations. Its Tempur North America and Tempur International mattresses consists of proprietary multi-layer, temperature sensitive, pressure-relieving TEMPUR material that continuously conforms to the body, and other technologies. Additionally, its Tempur North America and Tempur International segments also offer various foundations and adjustable foundations. The company’s Sealy segment produces mattresses and foundations across a range of technologies, including innerspring, latex foam, innerspring/foam hybrid and visco-elastic memory foam and sells them directly to customers in North and South America. In addition, Sealy brands are represented by joint ventures and licensees worldwide. Other The company’s other products include pillows and various other comfort products. Channels The company sells its products through three channels: Retail, Direct and Other. Retail: The company’s Retail channel sells to furniture and bedding retailers, department stores and warehouse clubs.
