Products and Services Residential Customers segment The Residential Customers segment manages approximately 4.3 million mobile customers and approximately 2.8 million analogue and digital access lines, as well as 1 million broadband Internet connections. It also operates an Internet portal, bluewin.ch. Swisscom Residential customers’ main business is the connectivity market, with five sub-markets: mobile telephony, mobile data transmission, wireline telephony, broadband access, and TV distribution. Small and Medium-Sized Enterprises Swisscom’s Small and Medium-Sized Enterprises (SME) segment delivers products and services to approximately 330,000 SME customers in Switzerland. The company allows access to parts of the access network infrastructure, in particular unbundled subscriber lines, cable ducts and co-locations, a range of interconnection services enable third-party providers to use Swisscom’s transport networks and platforms for telephony services. These include the termination of telephone calls on Swisscom’s wireline and mobile network, as well as access services that allow outgoing calls to be made on Swisscom’s wireline network infrastructure. The company enables third-party providers to use and market diverse broadband services that include the use of high-speed DSL access services with bandwidths of up to 20 Mbps. Additionally Wholesale segment also offers a variety of data services for connecting locations and networks, including mobile network antenna sites. Networks The Networks segment is responsible for the wireline and mobile network infrastructures and the IT platforms. This includes developing, building, and maintaining the entire network infrastructure. Fastweb Fastweb provides telecom services. It operates an IP-based network, which offers voice, data, Internet, and TV services in all large towns and cities in Italy. Fastweb serves all market segments, from large corporations to small and medium-sized enterprises (SME) to residential customers. Fastweb’s product portfolio ranges from voice, data, Internet, and IPTV services and video-on-demand, to complete virtual private network services and bespoke solutions. Swisscom IT Services Swisscom IT Services is a provider of information technology services to corporate customers in Switzerland. The main business is the integration and operation of complex IT infrastructures (workplace and data centre services). Swisscom IT Services also delivers IT services to medium-sized and large enterprises and institutions in the area of public administration and healthcare. Together with its subsidiary Comit, Swisscom IT Services serves customers in the financial sector. Swisscom Participations Swisscom Participations manages a portfolio of small and medium-sized enterprises that deliver services, which are related to or support the company’s main business. Hospitality Services Hospitality Services specializes in catering to the communications needs of the hotel industry and offers Internet-based services in 17 European countries and in the major cities of North America. Hospitality Services maintains a high-speed Internet network serving approximately 2,250 hotels throughout Europe and North America. The company also provides special communications solutions for events worldwide. Swisscom Central & Eastern Europe (Airbites) Airbites provides broadband services for residential customers, as well as small and medium-sized enterprises in cities in the Ukraine, Bulgaria, and Rumania. Significant Events In December 2010, Energie Wasser Bern and Swisscom AG have signed a cooperation agreement to extend the city of Berne's fibre-optic network into households. By signing the cooperation agreement, Swisscom and Energie Wasser Bern have committed themselves to work together to construct Berne's fibre-optic network. History Swisscom AG was founded in 1998.
