Suffolk Bancorp operates as the bank holding company for Suffolk County National Bank of Riverhead, which offers a line of domestic commercial and retail banking services and wealth management services. The company operates through 26 branches in Nassau and Suffolk counties, New York and loan production offices in Garden City and Melville, New York. The company makes commercial real estate floating and fixed rate loans, commercial and industrial loans to manufacturers, wholesalers, distributors, developers/contractors and retailers and agricultural loans. It also makes loans secured by residential mortgages, and both fixed and floating rate second mortgage loans with a variety of plans for repayment. Real estate construction loans are also offered. Investment Portfolio As of December 31, 2014, the company’s investment portfolio included U.S. treasury securities; U.S. government agency securities; corporate bonds; collateralized mortgage obligations; mortgage-backed securities; and obligations of states and political subdivisions. Deposits As of December 31, 2014, the company’s deposits included demand deposits; saving deposits; N.O.W. and money market deposits; time certificates of $100,000 or more; and other time deposits. Regulations The company is a bank holding company registered under the Bank Holding Company Act and is subject to supervision and regulation by the Federal Reserve Board. Federal laws subject bank holding companies to particular restrictions on the types of activities in which they may engage, and to a range of supervisory requirements and activities, including regulatory enforcement actions for violation of laws and policies. Suffolk County National Bank is a national bank, which is subject to regulation and supervision primarily by the Office of the Comptroller of the Currency and secondarily by the Federal Reserve Board and the Federal Deposit Insurance Corporation. History Suffolk Bancorp was founded in 1890.
