Significant Events SunPower Corp. and AE-AMD Renewable Energy, as well as its partners have completed two South African ground-mounted solar projects and are now feeding 33 megawatts (MW) into the grid. In August 2014, Epuron and SunPower Corp. have partnered to expand the size of the Uterne solar power plant, reportedly bringing clean energy to approximately 1,000 Alice Springs homes each year when the plant is expected to be completed in 2015. The University of California, Davis and SunPower Corp. imtends to build a 16-megawatt, ground-mounted solar power plant that is expected to generate 14% of UC Davis' electricity needs. SunPower Corporation announced its definitive agreement with Tianjin Zhonghuan Semiconductor Co., Ltd.; Sichuan Development Holding Co., Ltd.; Leshan Electric Power Co., Ltd.; and Tianjin Tsinlien Investment Holding Co., Ltd. to form a joint venture with plans to develop and own at least three gigawatts of photovoltaic (PV) power plants in the People's Republic of China.
