Segments The company has three segments: Less-than-Truckload (LTL), Truckload Logistics (TL), and Transportation Management Solutions (TMS). Less-than-Truckload The LTL business involves the pickup, consolidation, linehaul, deconsolidation, and delivery of LTL shipments throughout the United States, Mexico, Puerto Rico, and Canada. With a network of 45 LTL service centers and third-party delivery agents, the company employs a point-to-point LTL model. Truckload Logistics The TL business arranges the pickup, delivery, and inventory management of TL freight through its network of 27 TL service centers, 5 freight consolidation and inventory management centers, 22 company dispatch offices, and 96 independent brokerage agents located throughout the United States and Canada. The company offers temperature-controlled, dry van, intermodal drayage, and flatbed services and specializes in the transport of refrigerated foods, poultry, and beverages. Transportation Management Solutions The TMS business offers a ‘one-stop’ domestic and international transportation and logistics solution, including access to the modes of transportation within its broad network. Specifically, its TMS offering includes pricing, contract management, transportation mode and carrier selection, freight tracking, freight bill payment and audit, cost reporting and analysis, and dispatch. The company’s TMS business also includes domestic and international air and ocean transportation services and customs brokerage. Services Less-than-Truckload: The company provides LTL transportation services in North America originating from points within approximately 150 miles of its service centers to most destinations throughout the United States and into Mexico, Puerto Rico, and Canada. Within the United States, the company offers national, long-haul service (1,000 miles or greater), inter-regional service (between 500 and 1,000 miles), and regional service (500 miles or less). The company serves a group of customers within various industries, including retail, industrial, paper goods, manufacturing, food and beverage, health care, chemicals, computer hardware, and general commodities. Truckload Logistics: The company provides a comprehensive range of TL solutions for its customers by utilizing its broad base of third-party carriers who operate temperature-controlled, dry van, and/or flatbed capacity. Although the company specializes in the transport of refrigerated foods, poultry, and beverages, the company also provides various TL transportation solutions for dry goods ranging from paper products to steel, as well as flatbed service for larger industrial load requirements. The company’s intermodal capabilities include drayage, which is the transport of freight between ocean ports or rail ramps and shipping docks. Transportation Management Solutions: The company offers ‘one-stop’ comprehensive or à la carte 3PL services, and domestic and international transportation and container management services. It provides the necessary operational expertise, information technology capabilities, and relationships with third-party transportation providers to meet the needs of its customers.
