The GENIVI platform would accelerate the pace at which automakers can deliver solutions, bringing them closer to the lifecycle of consumer devices, and accelerating new business models, such as connected services. On September 4, 2009, Mitsubishi Motors Corp. and PSA Peugeot Citroen signed a basic agreement to tie up on the development and supply of electric vehicles. Under the agreement, the two firms would develop an electric vehicle based on Mitsubishi's i-MiEV model for sale in Europe under the Peugeot and Citroen brands. On October 4, 2009, Iran Khodro Company P J S C and PSA Peugeot Citroen have agreed to produce the Peugeot 207i car outside the country and export it to 63 countries. The hatchback model of the car, which would hit markets in March 2010 would be in built in Iran Khodro factories in countries, such as Venezuela, Senegal and Syria.
